About

Clinical, engineering, and security leadership under one roof.

Chart-Shark was started by a trauma PI coordinator who lived the pain of assembling chart reviews and wished for a better way. She partnered with veteran engineering professionals who understood modern AI, application development, and enterprise operations, and Chart-Shark was born. Today each discipline is led by an executive who has run it at scale.

Clinical

Only someone who has lived and breathed chart review is qualified to create an application like Chart-Shark, aimed at saving the nurse hours of painstaking reconstruction while leaving them in full control of the judgement, analysis, and process definition.

Application and AI

Chart-Shark uses current AI models to provide the tools to implement your own process. It connects to most EHR systems and understands both records and handwritten documents. It's easy to use, performant, and there's an AI assistant to help out at every stage.

Data and operational security

Modern data operations is layered and complex. Chart-Shark's production infrastructure is built for data security, reliability, and performance. Designed from the ground up to sit next to PHI, it's run by a team with decades of operational and compliance experience. Contact us for details on our security program.

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

Odessa Mattsson is co-founder and CEO of Chart-Shark, and the product's original visionary — she lived the problem, then specified the fix. She was previously a Trauma Process Improvement Coordinator at Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, an ACS-verified Level II Regional Trauma Center, running chart review and quality benchmarking against TQIP and American College of Surgeons standards for a verified trauma program — the review work Chart-Shark now does in minutes. Prior to nursing she spent a decade in enterprise databases: building Embarcadero Technologies' technical support organization from scratch, then engineering the databases behind a major automaker's first online configurator. She earned her BSN cum laude from San José State.
