How this website handles your information.

Chart-Shark, Inc., a California corporation, operates chart-shark.com. This policy covers the website and how we handle what you share with us. It does not cover patient data processed by the Chart-Shark product; see Security for that.

What we collect

  • What you send us: information you enter in any contact or booking form, such as your name, work email, role, trauma center, approximate charts per year, and EHR vendor, and any email you send us.
  • Automatically: usage and device data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected through server logs and cookies.
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information, such as health data. You can use the site without giving us any personal information.

How we use it

  • To respond to your requests and questions.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website, and measure how it is used.
  • To prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that run our email, hosting, and related tools (including Google Workspace), only as needed to provide their services and under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal and business reasons: when required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction.
  • We do not sell your information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently show third-party ads on the site; if that changes, we will update this policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including many U.S. states and the EU/UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. To make a request, email info@chart-shark.com. We may ask you to verify your identity, and you may appeal if we decline a request.

Retention, security, and transfers

  • We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it.
  • We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
  • The site is operated in the United States, and your information may be processed there.
  • The site is not intended for children under 13.
